A poem I wrote to accompany this art:

At Winter’s first dawn, I dream of a place
Where the lone tree stands in all its grace
A place where the grass burns red like fire
And the birds fly sky bound, ever higher.

At Winter’s first dawn is where I’ll be
Here at the place where you first kissed me
In the spot you said that I should wait
For you to return before it’s too late.

At Winter’s first dawn is where you’ll find me
In the spot where you said we’d be free
At the place between awake and dreaming
Right where I can still feel you breathing.
