King Craxis
This little guy came out of the kiln with more than usual underglaze cracking. Instead of deeming him not good enough, I decided to write him a story to suit, in hopes he’d find a loving home, rather than a rubbish bin. This is his story:
Once upon a time, King Craxis (pun intended) was the guardian of a kingdom that was once full of magic. His single, unblinking eye watched over wandering souls, guiding them back whenever they felt lost. But as the years passed, the world changed. People stopped believing in magic and King Craxis and his kingdom crumbled and cracked, and now lays dormant and lost to time.
Now, he seeks a new home - not a palace, but a place where he is cherished despite his imperfections. He does not ask for much, only a bit of kindness, for someone who will see him not as broken, but as a survivor, and will place a small bloom to rest in his crown. A single flower can brighten his day, reminding him that even the broken can be beautiful and that care can mend what time has cracked. Maybe, just maybe, with the right person, he can watch over a wandering soul once more.
