‘Out of Darkness’ – 2019

One overcast, dreary day, my friend Billie and I were roaming around an old, abandoned mental asylum, and I came upon this room where the floor was falling to pieces, nature was starting to grow through, and the roof was missing. I thought of how nature was prevailing, and slowly taking over the space, coming out of the darkness under the room, and into the light. I thought of how the people who once occupied these rooms, were trapped within those four walls, searching for a way back into the light. With this in mind, I created this image.
